Estudante do curso de Engenharia de Controle e Automação da FAHOR

My name is Ramires, I’m 22 years old, and I’m currently a student in Brazil. From August 9th to 23rd, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a two-week WorkCamp in Hönow.

During these two weeks, I lived and worked alongside young people from many different countries, each with unique backgrounds, cultures, and stories. It was fascinating to see how, despite our differences, we quickly became close friends. In such a short time, we created memories that I will cherish forever.

Our daily routine usually started with work in the morning, helping with community projects and outdoor activities until around 2 p.m. In the afternoons, we had time for cultural exchanges and group activities. Some days we relaxed at the lake or shared international meals at the camp, while on others we explored Berlin’s landmarks and nearby towns. Every day brought something new to learn and enjoy.

Representing Brazil among so many cultures filled me with pride and gratitude. It made me reflect on the values of openness, joy, and solidarity that define us as a people.

These two weeks were not only about volunteering, they were about growth, discovery, and friendship. The WorkCamp in Hönow will always remain in my memory as a life-changing experience that broadened my worldview and strengthened my belief in the power of collaboration and cultural exchange.
